118 new corona patients have been diagnosed in Israel in the last 24 hours, 93 of them since midnight. This is according to the Ministry of Health data released this evening (Thursday). According to city data, the new patients were found in dozens of localities and not in a small number of localities, as they were in recent weeks.
The number of infections in Israel stands at 17,495, of which 15,013 have recovered and 291 have died - so the number of active patients is 2,191.
During the day, about 11,000 tests were performed, and yesterday 13,000 tests were performed - the highest number since the last increase in the daily number of diagnoses that began last week. The Ministry of Health data shows that the number of hospitalized patients is 23 - this is a figure that is gradually declining and far from the peak about a month and a half ago, when there were about 140 respirators.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education announced tonight that 87 educational institutions have closed so far following the infection of students and teaching staff in the Corona virus. The number of students and teaching staff infected with the virus is 301. Alongside, 13,696 students and teaching staff have been sent to isolation so far.
Since noon, when the number of closed institutions was 72, 15 educational institutions were closed and another 16 students and blue-collar teaching staff were diagnosed with the virus. Also, another 4,617 students and teaching staff were sent for isolation.
Only 57,000 workers were returned in the first week of June. All in all, this is a decline from about 900,000 unemployed to about 850,000, which is a decrease of 6% - according to figures published by the Employment Service on Thursday. It is estimated that there is under-reporting for the Employment Service, but even if that is the case - it is doubtful that the number of returnees is higher than a few dozen percent compared to the official figure. The fear of a second wave of the Corona eruption may affect some employers who prefer not to return workers from the IAF for fear of being unable to take them out again.
The Employment Service also reported that from the last update yesterday at 16:00 to today at 16:00, the Employment Service received 12.5 thousand reports of returning to work. At the same time, 1,250 new job seekers were registered. Since the easing of the closure of the economy began on April 19, the Employment Service received 288,000 reports of returning to work, while 110 new job seekers were registered. Employers will receive a NIS 7,500 grant for each employee who is posted to the USSR and returned to the labor market.
