Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yeshir party, declared today (Tuesday) that the current government is "fueling division as if it comes with no cost." At the launch of his party’s election campaign, Eisenkot accused the leadership of "refusing to take responsibility for its failures, even at the cost that a lack of investigation may lead to their repetition."

Eisenkot promised the establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre, as well as significant investment in the reconstruction of the north and south, and expansion of the military. He stressed his commitment to "making courageous decisions and knowing when to go to war," but emphasized that "war must never be a goal in itself, but always a means to strengthen Israel’s security."

Accusations of Deception and Division

The former military chief accused the leadership of lying, saying, "As if there is no choice but the chaos in which we live. Their only way to govern is to divide us." Eisenkot asked, "Will we close our eyes to the disaster that happened to us? Will we accept ongoing division and rush to the next disaster?"

A Vision for Unity and Responsibility

Eisenkot declared that he would work to unify Israel’s citizens. "These are fateful elections for Israel’s security, unity, and soul. We have the power to make a change here. I will be a prime minister for all citizens of Israel." He pledged that Israel would remain a Jewish-democratic state that upholds the values of the Declaration of Independence.

Rejecting Incitement and National Betrayal

"There are those who have incited and inflamed for years, as if the people of Israel are not one people," Eisenkot said. "They promote actions that contradict the national interest, and they slap the faces of Israelis who work, serve, and sacrifice for this home." Eisenkot stressed that it is their duty to end this madness and ensure a responsible transition into the next decade, as Israel cannot afford to make mistakes again.
