A series of fires across the country, which have been triggered by heavy and extreme heat loads throughout the country, caused damage estimated at millions of shekels, but hardly caused casualties. Near the Ramat Pinkas neighborhood in Or Yehuda, a fire broke out in an open area. Five houses were set on fire as a result of the fire near Ramat Pinkas. There was a concentration of effort to evacuate the population from the dangerous lines, and the firefighting forces exerted great efforts on several fronts. The Technion campus was partially evacuated following a fire that raged in Nesher.
In the case of Rahat in the Negev, an 8-year-old boy was moderately injured by a heat stroke.
In Shavei Shomron a fire started spreading near the first line of houses, and all the houses in the settlement were evacuated. Police, army and firefighters gained control of the fire and evacuated the residents. Three volunteer firefighting teams were involved in the burning of thorns in Shavei Shomron. In the meantime, a fire broke out and began to spread in a dirt car park near the Jerusalem Technological Park. 10 vehicles were set on fire.
Firefighters declared the highest state of emergency, "red torch", when all the firefighters in the country are in the field. At present there are five centers of combustion and the delivery of 14 fire engines is carried out on the basis of professional considerations. Helicopters with fire extinguishers also took part in the activity. Many firefighters with the assistance of airplanes also operated in a large forest in Barta'a, and the settlements of Arara and Katzir were evacuated, where the police cleared about 200 houses. Following the advance of the fire towards the towns of Rogelit (Neve Michael) and Aderet, they were evacuated by firefighting and rescue to Israel with the help of the police. Fire also broke out in an open area in the Modi'in area, on Route 40 at the entrance to Nahalalim, on Route 42 near Kfar Aviv, and on Route 444 near Sdeh Hamad and Yarkonim Junction.
Following the burning of a grove near Ringelblum Street in south Jerusalem, the police closed the street to traffic to allow the KGB to operate in the area, and the police were asked to be patient, obey police orders, avoid using the roads.
In the wake of a fire between the Checkpost road and the Dori road, the road to Bar Yehuda in Nesher and Dori Road in Haifa were blocked in both directions. Police stationed there, directed the traffic and helped the firefighters.
Fifteen firefighting teams took part in the event, which was commanded by a deputy commander of the Haifa station, Mishna Hezi Levy. Most of the effort focused on three sectors: the demarcation of the upper part of the fire, the demarcation of the fire on the slope and the protection of the Paz-Hawassa gas station complex, and stopping the advance of the fire eastwards towards Nesher. As of now, the incident has not yet been achieved, but in a reserved tone one can say that the efforts of the fire fighters bear fruit.
