This is the fourth day in a row with over 10,000 verified: 13,603 Israelis were diagnosed on Wednesday as positive for Corona. A total of about 71,300 tests were deciphered and the positive rate was about 19%. At the same time, the infection coefficient continues to rise and stands at 1.42 - indicating a widespread spread of the plague.
Data from the Ministry of Health show that the number of patients in critical condition remains stable compared to last night and stands at 301. The data also show that 130 patients in critical condition are connected to respirators. Since the beginning of the week, 122 new patients have been hospitalized in critical condition, 30 of them yesterday. On the other hand, dozens of patients recovered and at least seven patients died this week.
In contrast to previous waves of morbidity, there was no sharp jump in the number of infected people, partly due to the home antigen tests, which, if the results are negative, usually do not reach the test with an institutional antigen or PCR at the test centers. This causes a decrease in the number of infections and less loads in the test voltages, as well as a significantly higher positive rate compared to the previous waves of morbidity in 2021 and 2020.
On Wednesday last week, about 63,500 were tested in institutional PCR and antigen tests, while yesterday about 96,000 were infected. This is an increase of about 50% and is lower than the increase in the number verified between the two days, which is a little more than 100%. It should be emphasized that not all tests are deciphered on the day they are performed.
The number of active patients, most of whom are in a mild and very mild condition, continues to rise and stands at 66,821. In some large cities the number of active patients has doubled or nearly doubled within a week. In Tel Aviv, the number of active patients jumped by 85% in seven days, in Jerusalem there was a jump of 93% and in Rishon Lezion the number of active patients rose by 109% within a week. In Haifa there was a jump of 82%, in Be'er Sheva the number of illegal patients increased by 88% within a week and in Modi'in Maccabim Reut there was a sharp jump of 113%.
Data from the Ministry of Health show that the rate of positives in Tel Aviv has been 17% in the last week, in Jerusalem the figure is 9%, in Rishon Lezion 19%, in Haifa 17%, in Petah Tikva 21%, in Be'er Sheva 19%, in Modi'in-Maccabim-Reut 25%, in Rehovot 20%, in Herzliya 18%, in Givatayim 23%, in Nahariya 25% and in Rosh HaAyin also 25%.
