Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is promoting the abolition of most corona restrictions by early next month. Bennett sought to examine the issue of removing the restrictions added in the omicron wave in an initial consultation that had already taken place, in which it was decided that the removal of all restrictions should be gradually examined.
In a discussion held by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday evening, a list of recommendations was formulated for changes in the guidelines that will be presented to Bennett tomorrow: cancel the corona test abroad before returning to Israel, and leave only the test upon landing at Ben Gurion Airport; dance; To allow foreign children up to the age of 12 who are accompanied by vaccinated parents to enter the country, while charging in isolation until a negative result is obtained in the corona test; Do not allow unvaccinated foreigners over the age of 12 to enter the country and cancel the green mark in at-risk events. The ministry will recommend upholding the directive to wear masks in enclosed spaces.
In a discussion that will take place today, the Prime Minister is expected to ask to renew the entry of unvaccinated foreigners into Israel as early as next week. The move means that families with children, who in some cases cannot be vaccinated due to their age, will also be allowed to enter.
Next week, a discussion is expected regarding the cancellation of the green sign at events and conferences - where the obligation to present the sign still exists. The decision also depends on the approval of the professionals. The professional factors will also discuss the outline of education and the obligation to wear masks in enclosed spaces, but it has not yet been clarified whether a decision is expected to be made that will change the guidelines on these issues. Bennett's entourage clarified that he intends to continue operating Magen Avot and the Alon headquarters on a limited basis, even now with the moderation of the disease.
According to the Ministry of Health, 20,340 people were diagnosed yesterday with corona. The number of patients with a serious condition continues to decline and stands at 927. The coefficient of infection, which indicates how many people infect each carrier of the virus on average, has also decreased slightly - from 0.7 to 0.68.
The downward trend continues even in the rate of positive tests. Of the 121,193 tests conducted yesterday, 18.73% had a positive result. As a result of the outbreak of the plague, 9,651 people died from the virus in Israel.
