The labor market is expected to immediately face a fundamental change, whereby thousands of workers will be able to get to their jobs even if they have been infected with the corona virus. This is on the condition that their illness is without symptoms and that they will not meet on their way to the workplace and the factory where they are employed by any other worker while they are there. The innovation, which mainly concerns workers in industry, may in fact eliminate the need for many workers in isolation and help workplaces overcome the absence in recent days of many workers, including those employed in particularly vital jobs.
The sweeping change in regulations for the first time since the outbreak of the epidemic will allow anyone defined by the workplace as a critical worker - a production nest manager, transport driver or forklift operator for example - to report for work even if infected with the corona virus. the job.
The rather dramatic decision in the labor market was announced by the Manufacturers Association, following cooperation on this issue with the National Emergency Authority (RAHL) and the Ministry of Health.
From today it will in fact be possible for the first time for a verified Corona worker to physically arrive at his place of work. This is on the condition that the employee is defined as a "critical employee", does not show symptoms of the disease and does not come into contact with other employees in the workplace.
Under the new outline, a company considered essential will be able to submit an orderly application to the Ministry of Health (Center of Control) to employ a critical worker in its territory. This is as long as it is defined as asymptomatic. The work permit received is individual and personal to the employee for each working day separately.
It should be noted that the verified employee will have to maintain strict precautionary rules in the workplace - the employee will have to schedule his arrival at work so that he will not be exposed to the rest of the employees or customers, alone in his private vehicle, without stopovers. The employee will be able to return to work only if he works alone, without risk of contact or exposure to other people. The workplace will be ventilated and the employee will make sure to open windows at the work station. The employee will perform his job in a separate position without any possibility of contact with other people. The employee will be asked to pay extra attention to hygiene, any break of the employee will take place in the open air only. If possible, the workplace will even assign the employee a separate toilet cubicle. Also at the beginning of the work day and at the end of the work day, the work position will be fully disinfected.
The President of the Manufacturers' Association and the Chairman of the Presidents of Employers and Businesses, Dr. Ron Tomer: That will allow critical workers, with role or vital information, to physically return to work even if they are verified to Corona. At the forefront of our concern is the maintenance of the current supply to the citizens of the country, along with the tight maintenance of the health of our employees. The current solution provides an answer to this. I thank Rachel and the Ministry of Health for their willingness to formulate this important outline and work with us for important purposes. We do not know when the epidemic will end so we must look long term and learn to live with the corona so we can continue to live, work and function .
