The United States warned on Tuesday against traveling to Israel following the spread of the corona there. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Israel is at the 4th highest level of risk from Corona - and Americans should avoid traveling to it. Along with Israel, 21 other countries were added to the list. The CDC stressed that the recommendation is sweeping for the vaccinated as well - but if it is an important trip, it is better to fly when vaccinated against the virus.
The prevailing assessment in Israel is that the coefficient of infection is expected to decrease within a week to 10 days. However, in the meantime, Israel is shattering every record from the outbreak of the plague - when from the beginning of the month to Monday, 532,777 were diagnosed in Corona, an average of 31,340 positive ones per day for the virus. In fact, from the beginning of the month until yesterday - when a record of more than 65,000 verified was recorded in one day - about 5.6% of the country's residents were diagnosed as positive for Corona. In other words, 1 in 18 Israelis received a message that he was positive about the virus.

In January 2021 - the peak of the epidemic so far - 220,234 positive for the virus were diagnosed on all 31 days of the month. In August-September 2021 - the peak of the fourth wave - a total of 409,371 Israelis were diagnosed as positive for the virus.
The Ministry of Health did not update the verified data until tonight, but although numbers were given on the verified numbers yesterday and Sunday - it was not stated how many tests were deciphered and what the percentage of positive tests was, what the infection rate was and the total number of active patients.
After a break of nearly two days, the Ministry of Health updated that in hospitals across the country 498 corona patients are hospitalized in critical condition, compared to 446 in the last update on Sunday evening. This is an increase of more than 10%.
The Ministry of Health said that 100 patients are connected to respirators. In addition, another 907 patients with corona are hospitalized in mild to moderate condition. It should be noted that the Ministry of Health has admitted that the patient count also includes patients with other diseases, who were diagnosed in the hospitals with Corona - but came for various reasons. Some are in serious condition due to another illness.
Even before tonight's update, Israel was ranked ninth in the world in the number verified per million inhabitants, after eight very small countries. These include the Faroe Islands, Andorra, Greenland, the Seychelles and San Marino. It is not inconceivable that after tonight's update, Israel will rise to second place in the world in morbidity in the last seven days - after the Faroe Islands, a country inhabited by less than 50,000 people.
In the shadow of the criticism of the isolation policy in schools and kindergartens, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will in the coming days hold discussions with the Minister of Health and senior officials of his ministry on the preparation in the education system for the day after the moderation of the infection coefficient. One of the outlines being considered is that of the "examining and learning" program - that is, continuous testing of Israeli students while conducting full-time studies. The "Testing and Learning" program will replace the canceled green class outline. Bennett instructed to examine a number of pathways in order to facilitate the parents - including the possibility of self-tests with antigen, PCR tests or that antigen tests will be done by Corona trustees in the education system.
The Ministry of Health has been holding discussions in recent days about the abolition of the green label, in the shadow of experts' calls that it is no longer effective since even vaccinated people are infected with omicron. Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman said today that he supports the abolition of the green label, but for now, people around Bennett say that there are no discussions on the issue in the government.
