The coefficient of infection continues to rise, and on Saturday it rose above 1 and stands at 1.02 - indicating a re-spread of the plague. From Sunday to Friday this week, 2,952 Israelis were diagnosed as positive for the virus, compared to 2,879 in the first six days last week - an increase of 2.53%. In light of the rise in morbidity, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has announced that he intends to keep Israel "open and safe" - even in the shadow of the epidemic that is spreading in Europe - and has announced what steps the government will take.
Data from the Ministry of Health show that yesterday 497 Israelis were diagnosed as positive for Corona. A total of about 77,000 tests were performed and the positive rate was 0.65%. Another 160 positive viruses were diagnosed today. 176 corona patients are hospitalized in hospitals across the country, 133 of them in critical condition. This is an increase of seven patients compared to the number yesterday. Data from the Ministry of Health show that 83.3% of critically ill patients are not vaccinated at all.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, which is sometimes updated with considerable delay, not a single Corona patient has died since last Tuesday. These are, as stated, non-final data and they are subject to change.
In Israel, there is one red settlement - Qasr a-Sir, a Bedouin village west of Dimona. There are a total of 5,277 active patients in Israel, 851 of them live in Jerusalem, 152 in Rehovot, 146 in Be'er Sheva, 124 a girl, 101 in Tel Aviv, 99 in Rahat, 97 in Petah Tikva, 86 in Umm al-Fahm, 75 in Givat Zeev, 75 in Haifa, 73 in Lod, 71 In Nazareth, 68 in Bnei Brak, 58 in Ashdod, 53 in Kiryat Arba, 52 in Kuseife and 50 in Tel Sheva.
In the shadow of the rise in morbidity, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced that he intends to keep Israel "open and safe" - while calling the current situation a "wave of children." As part of Bennett's program, the government will invest targeted efforts in children's vaccines. "49% of the new infected are aged 11-0," the Prime Minister's Office said. "The vaccines have arrived, and next Tuesday the vaccination campaign for children will officially begin."
The Prime Minister will also enter a special discussion regarding Hanukkah and the festival season, in view of the increase in the morbidity of children. "At this stage, it appears that the events will take place, on the basis of the green label rules," it was reported. "It will be made clear to the organizers that surprise inspections will be carried out and that the green mark will be enforced. In addition, the prime minister wants to see these events as an opportunity - for example, one of the ideas is to set up inviting immunization stations near the halls.
The prime minister does not intend to put pressure or coercion on parents to vaccinate their children - and to act in "soft persuasion" and convey the information transparently. Bennett plans to hold outreach meetings with teachers and pediatricians and family physicians, which, according to the studies presented to him, are the function that most influences parents' decision to vaccinate.
Regarding the situation in Europe, the Prime Minister's Office stressed that one of the reasons for the rampant disease there is "the unvaccinated who think they are vaccinated" - people who are vaccinated in two doses, without the urge to urinate, who are not protected. In Israel, there are about 950,000 people who have had a second and not a third vaccine, and Bennett has defined a focus on them.

Exactly 11 months after former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the first Israeli to be vaccinated against Corona, his successor, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, announced that the children's vaccines will be launched next Tuesday and that 5 to 11 year olds will be able to defend themselves against Corona with Pfizer's vaccine dose.
In his weekly post, Bennett wrote about children's vaccines: "I know there is a certain sensitivity around this matter. There are a lot of people who are afraid to vaccinate children, and they are not necessarily 'vaccine opponents' or those who buy angular conspiracy theories. My answer to these concerns is: "The world, especially Western Europe, is in a red wave of Corona," Bennett wrote a few hours after Austria announced it would impose a closure. Full from next week, and will later oblige its citizens to get vaccinated. "We are determined to protect the citizens of Israel from the disease and from its economic consequences."
"This is the 'wave of children,'" Bennett wrote. "49% percent of the verified are aged 0-11. This vaccine will save a lot of unnecessary isolation, but there is also an important health issue here - the effects of so-called 'long cube' can accompany children who have been ill for years. Just ruin their future. I (or Gilat, depending on the schedule…) This week I will take my youngest son, David, to get vaccinated. Our first duty as parents is to simply protect them. Take care of the children, get them vaccinated. "
The arrival of the vaccine shipment, which includes hundreds of thousands of child-friendly vaccine doses, was scheduled to land last Wednesday at Ben Gurion Airport, but its arrival was delayed slightly. Two issues regarding pediatric vaccines remain open: The Ministry of Health will discuss this next Sunday.
According to data from the Ministry of Health published this morning, after several days of continuous increase, the coefficient of infection has reached exactly 1 - and this means that the plague is no longer in decline. For more than two months the coefficient of infection was lower than 1 and the plague was on the decline - but after a month ago the coefficient reached 0.73, there has been a significant and gradual increase since then, until the problematic threshold was reached.
The Ministry of Health's Corona Virus Information Office said it was regularly monitoring the infection rate: "If the increase continues, we may need to take various steps to reduce infections. And adhere to the existing guidelines, including wearing masks and keeping the green mark. "
Meanwhile, the US Food and Drug Administration, FDA, on Friday approved the Booster vaccines of Pfizer and Moderna for those aged 18 and over, and later tonight there will be a discussion at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at the end of which experts will vote on vaccinations.
Despite FDA approval today, ten states in the United States are already vaccinating their residents with a third dose of Pfizer and Moderna, including Utah and Massachusetts. U.S. authorities are likely to allow vaccinators to choose the company with which they will be vaccinated, and citizens who have been vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson will also be able to be vaccinated once again. Until now, only citizens from at-risk groups, or those who work with adults and those with background illnesses, have been vaccinated with a booster.
The United States is the country where the most positive cases for Corona have been diagnosed since the outbreak and where the largest number of deaths has also been recorded. Yesterday it was diagnosed with 99,146 positive for corona and 1,147 patients died. In New York State 6,796 positives were diagnosed yesterday, in Pennsylvania 6,637, in Ohio 6,615, in Illinois 5,644 and in California 5,186. Since the beginning of the month, over 1.4 million verified patients have been diagnosed in the country and about 19,500 patients have died.

At the end of weeks of preparation and investment in Teva-Sala infrastructure leading the complex logistical aspect of the vaccination campaign in Israel, they received, in accordance with the Ministry of Health's guidelines, the hundreds of thousands of Pfizer children's vaccines that landed in Israel this morning.
