An additional 9,891 people have been diagnosed with Corona in the past day, the Ministry of Health said this morning (Wednesday). This is a 6.69% positive out of a total of 150,657 tests. Also, the number of critically ill patients rose to 692, including 129 respirators. Yesterday, 16 patients died of the virus, so the death toll from the outbreak rose to 6,880.
To date, we have vaccinated 5,923,082 people in the first vaccine dose in the country, and 1,673,1565 in the third dose. This, after the Ministry of Health announced yesterday the expansion of the third vaccination campaign, so that it will also include those aged 30 and over - a few days after the operation was extended to 40-year-olds.

Meanwhile, public hospitals went on strike this morning, during which they moved to work on an emergency basis. Hospital administrators last night informed Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and MDA Director General Eli Bin that starting this morning, Hadassah, Shaare Zedek, Maayan Hayeshua, Laniado and the three hospitals in Nazareth - the French, English and Italian - will switch to "Shabbat format". Last night, thousands of calls were made to inform patients in hospitals about canceling appointments for tests and even scheduled surgeries.
After the press conference, Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and Director General of the Ministry of Health Prof. Nachman Ash came to talk to the principals. "We know the problem and we will deal with it," Horowitz said. Ash and Horowitz told the managers the state of the discourse with the Treasury, and told them that the goal was to approve advances for them.

The Ministry of Health has approved yesterday vaccination for corona in a third dose also for people aged 30 and over. The vaccine was approved on the recommendation of the Corona Vaccine Advisory Team, the Epidemic Treatment Team, as well as the recommendation of members of the Vaccine Benefit and Safety Monitoring Committee. To date, 1,575,898 Israelis have been vaccinated in the third dose. This is after the HMOs began vaccinating people aged 40 and over last Friday.

The decision to expand the vaccine is based on the good safety and efficacy data accumulated so far in third-dose recipients, and from the growing assessment that the effect of the vaccine fades over time and thus leads to an increase in morbidity. In discussions held in recent weeks by more than 80 experts in the IDF and the Vaccines Committee, it emerged that there is justification for extending the administration of the third dose to younger ages and other groups in the population.
The rate of positive tests is 6.63% of the total tests. For comparison, in the third wave, this rate averaged about 9%
As of today (24.8), 1,124 Corona patients are hospitalized in all hospitals in the country, 678 of them in critical condition
According to the Ministry of Health, the level of effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing infection with Corona is 40% and the vaccine is 91% effective in preventing serious illness. However, the figure may not be accurate. Click for explanation
According to Pfizer, the vaccine is effective against the Delta variant by 90% in preventing morbidity with symptoms and in 95% in preventing severe morbidity.
About 90% of those aged 50 and over are vaccinated in two doses, as well as 40% in ages 15-12
To date, 1,025 million people aged 60 and over and 515,000 people aged 59-40 have been vaccinated in the third dose
Data published last week by the Maccabi HMO provide the first evidence of the effectiveness of the third vaccine. According to a follow-up conducted by the Department of Information and Digital Health at the fund for vaccinated people aged 60 and over who received the third dose, 86% effectiveness was found in preventing infection after one week of receiving the vaccine. The fund compared about 150,000 vaccinated people in the third dose and 675,000 people who were vaccinated in two doses at the beginning of the year, which showed that 37 vaccinated people were found in the third dose vaccinated group and 1,064 verified in the second group.
A follow-up by the Ministry of Health of data on vaccinators in the country shows that the side effects reported after the third vaccine are mild and similar to those that appeared after the first and second doses.
The number of people infected with corona in Israel crossed the million mark this morning. In the year and a half since the outbreak, 1,005,511 patients were diagnosed, and 6,864 - 0.68% died, a low figure relative to the world. Yesterday, 9,831 new patients were diagnosed - a record in the current wave - and the condition of 678 of the active patients is severely defined, of whom 168 are in critical condition and 123 are respiratory. 24 of the 678 severe patients are aged 39-30, four of whom are vaccinated.

The morbidity rate continues to rise - and is approaching an all-time high. More than a million people have been diagnosed in Israel since February 2020 as positive for Corona - 9,831 of them yesterday (Monday), a verified record in the fourth wave that is also approaching an all-time high. Yesterday, about 156,000 corona tests were performed and the positive rate, without recovery tests, was 6.63% - the highest figure in the current wave.
The daily verified record in Israel was recorded on January 18, when 10,118 positives were diagnosed for Corona. Following the new figure, Israel has crossed the threshold of one million verified for Corona since the outbreak of the plague. During this 556-day period, 10.6% of Israelis were diagnosed as positive. In fact, the average daily infection rate from that day on February 17, 2020 is 1,804.
1,124 corona patients are hospitalized in hospitals across the country, 678 of them in critical condition. 123 critically ill patients connected to respirators - an increase compared to yesterday.
