Data released by the Ministry of Health shows that yesterday 1,430 people were diagnosed as positive for Corona. Of the approximately 87,000 corona tests conducted yesterday - 1.66% were interpreted as positive. From midnight on Friday until the end of Shabbat, another 670 Corona carriers were diagnosed in Israel. Over the weekend there was an increase in the number of critically ill patients, and it now stands at 89, of which 18 are connected to respirators.
Prof. Eran Segal, component of the Weizmann Institute's corona prediction model, who revealed some of the morbidity data as early as this morning, explained that this contributed to an increase in the number of verified, and that it may therefore be a decrease in the rate of infection.
According to Prof. Segal, this week there were about 30% more tests - and part of the increase in morbidity is due to this. According to him, the rate of positive tests is lower compared to previous waves - which is a sign of better control and amputation of more adhesive chains.
Over the weekend, there was an increase in the number of serious patients. Yesterday at noon this figure stood at 81 and now stands at 89, of which 18 are respirators. A total of 169 corona patients are hospitalized in Israel.
At the same time, despite last night's call by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to get vaccinated, the 1.1 million Israelis who are supposed to get vaccinated, but have not yet reached the vaccine centers, are in no hurry to defend themselves against the virus that has already claimed 6,457 victims in Israel. Yesterday, 1,910 Israelis received the first vaccine and 7,996 received the second dose and in a week they will receive the green label.
On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett called on Israelis to go out and get vaccinated - and sharply attacked those who refused: "Those who refuse vaccines endanger the health, environment and freedom of all Israeli citizens. We are all harmed, because if everyone is vaccinated - everyone will be able to maintain the routine of their lives. " Bennett also asked the public to pressure people around them to get vaccinated: "I appeal from here to anyone who knows a vaccine refuser, convince him, explain to him that he will not harm others. Do not give up."
