End to masks in the open space: A year after the directive to wear masks in the public space, on Saturday the director general of the Ministry of Health, Hezi Levy, signed an order that would remove the obligation to wear masks in open spaces from Sunday. ".
The Ministry of Health emphasized that in non-open areas a mask should be worn: "We mention that it is important at every exit from the house to be equipped with a mask that will be required in enclosed spaces and to maintain guidelines - mask, social distance and hygiene, for the health of us all."

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein announced on Tuesday that in light of the low level of morbidity in Israel thanks to the successful vaccination campaign, it is possible to further alleviate the guidelines regarding the corona virus.
The head of the public health services, Dr. Sharon Elrai-Price, stated that "the mask must continue to be kept in the bags or purse that each person carries with them. The obligation to wear masks in enclosed spaces will continue. We do not know who around us is sick or not, vaccinated or not, and in closed spaces the risk is higher. Therefore, the masks must be with us. "She added that for two weeks now more than 95% of the localities in Israel are green." This is an amazing achievement, "said Elrai Price, noting that even after Passover and the cancellation of third-grade capsules, no increase in morbidity was observed. It is to open as soon as possible, to return to a blessed routine - but carefully. The corona is still here. "
Elrai-Price added that "the mask must be kept in the bag, because the obligation to wear masks in enclosed spaces will continue. We do not know who around us is sick or not, vaccinated or not, and in enclosed spaces the risk is higher. Therefore, the masks must be with us."
There is no need to wear a mask in areas where you are alone in a space like at home, in the office at work and in a private car.
The corona virus passes in small droplets that splash in speech or cough. The mask blocks the passage of the drops and thus protects us from carriers in our environment as well as those close to us, in case we carry and still do not know it. Also, the mask prevents us from touching the mouth and nose and thus reduces the chance of getting infected due to touching the surfaces.
Excluded from wearing a mask even in a closed area?
The obligation to wear a mask does not apply to people with mental, intellectual or medical disabilities who have significant difficulty or are prevented from covering their nose and mouth due to their disability.
There is no obligation to wear a mask when giving a lecture or other need to speak with an open face. The mask can be lowered during the activity, provided that the nearest person is three meters away. At school, the teacher will be able to remove a mask as long as a distance of two meters is maintained between him and the students. During medical or mental treatment of a person, which by nature cannot be performed with a mask, the treatment can be performed without a mask as long as a distance of at least two meters is maintained between the therapist and the patient. Treatment of a minor or helpless person can take place without wearing a mask and without keeping a distance, provided that it is a treatment that by its very nature is required to take place in a greater closeness between the therapist and the patient. The mask should be replaced for a maximum of 12 hours of use, and each time it gets dirty, torn, or wet.
The fine is NIS 500. In the case of a repeat offense a double fine may be imposed.
Authorized to be fined for not wearing a mask A police officer, municipal inspector or local authority employee who has been authorized to do so and has undergone special training, is authorized to register fines for not wearing a mask. Inspectors from the Nature and National Parks Authority are authorized to fine citizens in the fields of parks and nature reserves.
