The Ministry of Health will update this morning (Monday) that 1,339 people have been diagnosed with Corona in the past day. This increased the number of verified infections in Israel to 819,987. Yesterday, results were obtained for 27,108 tests, with the positive rate for the virus being 2.4%. The coefficient of infection has dropped to 0.76. The test data and their results are not final and may change in subsequent updates from the Ministry of Health.
The number of active patients is 27,593. The hospitals hospitalize 995 patients, of whom 212 are respirators and 627 are seriously ill. Currently, 6,011 people have died from the corona virus in Israel. Yesterday, 773 people were diagnosed in Corona. The number of tests was 98,660, of which 2.9% were positive for the virus. Meanwhile, progress in the vaccination campaign continued. 5,165,723 people in Israel were vaccinated with the first dose, while 4,209,104 had already completely completed the vaccine, and also received the second dose. Following the data, the Intelligence Department stressed today that vaccines are the most effective tool for reducing serious illness, even for recoverers who are at risk of re-infection from the South African strain and possibly other types of strains as well.
The intelligence department referred to the effectiveness of vaccines in fertility contexts, after unsubstantiated claims were recently circulated on social media that corona vaccines could harm fertility. These claims lack a scientific basis and do not at all recognize biological facts or mechanisms that indicate possible harm to male or female fertility as a result of known vaccines.
Yesterday, the corona projector, Prof. Nachman Ash, presented the outline of the Ministry of Health for Passover, in view of the decrease in morbidity. "On Pesach we can celebrate in a reasonable way and that no more restrictions are expected on Pesach." According to the outline, a gathering of up to 20 people inside and 50 outside is allowed inside the houses.
Also, staying in hotels is allowed according to the conditions of the green mark, and children should present a negative test. According to him, the synagogues will continue to operate according to the green label.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health announced that starting this coming Sunday, the rapid testing system will take effect. "The Ministry of Health is promoting joint work with the Ministries of Finance and Economy in order to examine the way to enable the maintenance of an adequate price level for speed tests," the statement said. The outline of the rapid tests is expected to serve as a complementary action for the entry of vaccinated and recovering people into businesses and spaces, separately from the national system that operates the regular corona tests.
Once it takes effect, the outline will allow vaccinated, recovering and people who presented a negative test from a quick test conducted at the site only - to enter businesses and placements. Under these rules a normal negative corona test will not be allowed to be presented. The Ministry of Health says that businesses will be able to order fast test providers from an approved list that will be published on the ministry's website.

The number of corona patients who died in Israel since the outbreak of the plague reached 6,008 on Sunday. Since the beginning of March, 233 patients have died, eight of them today.
At midnight, 466 positives were diagnosed for corona and results of 16,545 tests were obtained. The rate of positive tests was 2.8%. The number of patients in a serious condition has increased slightly and stands at 640, while the number of respirators stands at 221.
The number of active patients continues to decline and stands at 28,000. 4,272 of the patients are residents of Jerusalem, 1,309 live in Tel Aviv-Yafo, 1,027 in Netanya, 1,018 in Beer Sheva, 819 in Ashkelon, 753 in Rishon Lezion, 727 in Petah Tikva, 714 in Ashdod, 639 in Bnei Brak, 631 in Rahat, 618 in Haifa and 560 in Holon.

Of the cities with more than 500 active patients, only in Rahat is the rate of positive tests double-digit. In Rahat, 17% of the subjects in the Corona tests received a positive answer - that is, one in six, compared with 6% in Jerusalem, 5% in Bnei Brak, 5% in Netanya, 4% in Be'er Sheva, 3% in Tel Aviv-Yafo, 3% in Rishon Lezion and 3% in Haifa.

The number of vaccinated in the first dose in Israel is 5,139,301 people, and the number of vaccinated in the second dose is 4,149,380.
Earlier today, there was a significant reduction in the list of red localities according to the traffic light plan, which will lead to the return of hundreds of thousands more students to classrooms after government approval. Dozens of localities changed their color from red, and now the number of localities whose color is 26 stands.
In an interview with the Ynet studio this morning, Prof. Eran Segal of the Weizmann Institute expressed cautious optimism in light of the decline in morbidity data and the coefficient of infection. "We are very happy with the immunization and morbidity data, although things can change," he said. "It is important to note that in this battle between vaccines, and the fact that 85% of all people in Israel over the age of 16 have already been vaccinated with one dose or recovered, the data is really impressive. I am not sure we will see these numbers in other countries."

The Ministry of Health today (Sunday) officially announced that starting next week, speed tests will be installed at the entrance to places that require the green mark - but has not yet officially published an orderly outline on the subject, with many question marks in the background.

"In accordance with the agreement between Health Minister Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein, the ministry's director general, Prof. Hezi Levy, and the corona's commissioner, Prof. Nachman Ash, it was agreed that as of next Sunday, the rapid testing system will take effect," the ministry said today. "For the benefit of entering green mark activities, as a complementary action for the entry of vaccinated and recovering patients, in a manner separate from the national PCR tests (regular tests, Israel).
