The new corona projector, Prof. Nachman Ash, said tonight (Thursday) that one must prepare for at least another year of dealing with the plague. In a first briefing on the plague situation since taking office he added that "a third closure is definitely on the agenda". The briefing takes place against the background of the increase in the number of people diagnosed in recent days, which stood at more than a thousand yesterday. However, the positive rate remained below 2% and stood at 1.8% yesterday.
"I and all the leaders of the struggle in Corona, see the heavy prices you pay and the responsible way you drive. You sacrifice a lot and work with us for the health of the people," said Prof. Ash.
"Unfortunately, there are also irresponsible people who pose a danger to all of us, those who do not wear masks, who hold mass events. Most of the people are on guard, the minority who despise - endangers us all. And severe, "added the corona projector.
On the race for the vaccine, he said: "We are preparing vigorously to lead a national vaccination campaign for the benefit of all Israeli citizens. At the end of the vaccination campaign, I hope we can declare that the people of Israel have won the corona, but it will take some more time. Otto behind us, I see things differently, it's not going to be easy, it's not going to be short.
"My working assumption as head of Magen Israel is that the Corona will be here in the coming year. An effective vaccination of the population will be at best around 2021 and at worst towards the end of next year. Therefore, we as a state and as citizens must prepare for at least a year.
The developer added that he intends to produce a “green passport” that will allow flights abroad without isolation. “The passport will define people who are less at risk of catching and being infected. "In the next few days, we will transfer serological tests to the health funds, and according to this we will know if a person is not in danger of infection and will get green through it," he said. "The passport will be given to those who have recovered from the disease."
Prof. Ash added that he intends to make changes to the traffic light plan. "The traffic light will not only be for the areas but also for the people. I intend to transfer powers to the authorities and more information to you citizens. I have assumed to publish a complete traffic light map that will be available to everyone."

He added that a "third closure" is definitely on the agenda. Depends on the data and our son. "Malls, and there may be a deterioration that will lead to closure. I will not hesitate to recommend a national closure if required. We can achieve a reasonable routine of living alongside the corona only if we adhere to the guidelines."
Last night, the Corona Cabinet approved the mall pilot that will begin tomorrow, and as part of it, 15 malls will open throughout the country. The decision was made due to pressure from the owners of the shopping centers to open the malls in any case, even in the absence of a decision.
The ministers agreed, among other things, that the malls that will be opened are the Ofer (Melisron) malls in Be'er Sheva, Petah Tikva and the Kryon, the Azrieli malls in Haifa and Malcha and the Ayalon mall. In addition, nine malls with at least 20 stores will be opened: three in the north, three in Tel Aviv and the center and three in Jerusalem and the south.
The proposal submitted to the cabinet also states that four museums should be opened - including two that are not in the center of the country - but the announcement from the Ministry of Finance did not state anything about their reopening. According to an announcement from the Ministry of Health, the Israel Museum, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Eretz Israel Museum and the Madatech in Haifa will open.
Meanwhile, this morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein visited the Teva Sala logistics center in Shoham, which will receive, store and transport the vaccines against Corona under special conditions. Netanyahu said that "we will have millions of vaccines and there is no logistical limit to the freeze."
