The Ministerial Committee for the Declaration of a Restricted Area expanded at noon (Friday) the list of localities in the northern region that are closed due to an increase in the morbidity data in Corona. After yesterday it was decided to extend the closure on Majdal Shams until November 10 and to announce restrictions on the locality of Restaurant until November 11, restrictions were also announced on the localities of Buqata and Hatzor HaGlilit.
According to the decision, the restrictions in Buqata will begin tomorrow at 08:00 in the morning and will last until next Thursday at 08:00 in the morning. In the Haredi campus of Hatzor HaGlilit, the restrictions will apply from this coming Sunday at 16:00 in the afternoon until next Friday at 16:00 in the afternoon.
Restaurant, Buqata and Majdal Shams are the only localities where the percentage of active patients per 10,000 residents is greater than 100. In the restaurant, 40 people became infected in the last week and the rate of patients is 147 per 10,000, and in Majdal Shams 90 it was confirmed in the last week and the rate of active patients - 131 per 10,000.
Hatzor HaGlilit, home to about 9,000 residents, is the Jewish community with the most alarming morbidity data. In the last seven days, 27 new infections have been diagnosed in the locality, and there are a total of 50 active patients in the locality. The Ministry of Health does not specify the distribution of the infected by the neighborhoods in the locality.
In Buqata in the northern Golan Heights, 82 new infections have been diagnosed in the last seven days and there are a total of 94 active patients in the locality. The rate of positive tests at the place has stood at almost 25% since last Saturday. In fact, now in a locality where about 6,500 people live - one in every 70 residents is an active patient.
In the number of patients active per 10,000 residents, Bu'ata is in second place in the country after a restaurant, which has recently been restricted, and ahead of Majdal Shams. In the three localities in the northern Golan Heights, the rate of active patients is more than 1%.
The head of the Hatzor HaGlilit council, Shimon Suissa, said today: In the last two weeks, we have been in the midst of high morbidity as a result of two incidents - one in a large factory and the other in weddings. The ultra-Orthodox community currently has 45 patients. "Out of a welcome initiative by the leadership of the campus and the rabbis, it was decided to take on a voluntary closure, thus reducing the morbidity and not causing a general closure and suffering for the entire community."
Weissa added: "Yesterday, tests were conducted in the campus, which was attended by about 500 subjects. This is one of the important conditions in order to know the situation and locate disease centers, which indicates cooperation on their part. Everything is done to help residents at this time. Go out today to be tested and of course keep the rules. "
According to updated data from the Ministry of Health, yesterday 563 Israelis were diagnosed as positive for Corona. In total, more than 34,000 tests were performed yesterday and the rate of positive tests was 1.6% - a figure lower than the average in recent days. The positive rate without survey tests was 2.1%. All this, just before the next step in relief: the opening of street shops on Sunday.
The number of corona patients in a critical condition and the number of respirators continue to decline gradually. As of noon today, 324 patients in critical condition are hospitalized, 146 of whom are connected to respirators. A total of 589 Corona patients are hospitalized, 286 are in hotels and the rest in their homes.
