The Ministry of Health updated on Friday evening that yesterday a new record of new corona virus infections was recorded, more than 8,000. According to updated data from the Ministry of Health, on Thursday 8,178 newly verified infections were diagnosed. 66,640 tests were decoded yesterday, but the rate of positive tests continues to rise and stands at 12.6%. To date, 217,899 have been diagnosed with the outbreak of the plague in Israel.
The number of patients with a serious condition now stands at a record 708, and is approaching the severity threshold warned by hospitals, of 800 severe patients. 178 patients are now being resuscitated, and another 11 patients died at midnight. The total number of deaths from the outbreak of the plague now stands at 1,412.
The rate of positive tests this week stands at a record 12.8%, compared to 9.4% last week. This is according to a security report published this morning (Friday). The report states that the World Health Organization indicates a compliance of less than 5% positive over time as one of the indicators for taking control of the plague, but in Israel the situation is much worse.
In recent weeks, there has been a jump in the number of corona tests conducted in Israel, but the AMN report states that the broad increase in morbidity is only partially affected by the increase in the scope of tests. It was also written that the number of new patients per day in Israel is the highest in the world in relation to the size of the population.
Yesterday, a record number of infections were recorded per day, this morning the Ministry of Health updated that the number of serious patients had reached 700. Another 27 patients died this morning, and a total of 459 people have died from the virus this month, more than in any other month.
The AMN report also states that the high rate of positive tests indicates a much wider scope of illness than is actually described, despite the high number of tests conducted in Israel. In other words, there are quite a few corona patients in Israel without symptoms - who probably do not know that they have been infected and have not yet been tested.
An analysis of data published by the Ministry of Health regarding the new diagnoses in the past week shows that the rate of positive tests in Beitar Illit is almost 33%. This means that one in three subjects receives an answer that they are infected with the virus - when the national average is one in eight.
The situation is also difficult in Elad where 31.5% of the respondents received an answer that they were infected with the virus. A high percentage was also recorded in Bnei Brak - where more than 25% of those infected received a positive answer - that is, one in four. In Beit Shemesh, almost 22% of those infected received a positive answer, and in Netivot the figure is 20% - that is, one in five.
Positive tests above the national average were also received in Umm al-Fahm, Kfar Qassem, Ashdod, Jerusalem and Rehovot. So in fact in the three cities with the largest number of active patients - Jerusalem, Bnei Brak and Ashdod - the rate of positive tests is above the national average.
The data also show that in Tel Aviv-Yafo the rate of positive tests is 7.66% - that is, one in 13 tests is positive - a figure much lower than the national average. Similar data were also obtained in Haifa, Nahariya, Givatayim, Kiryat Bialik, Raanana, Yeruham, Ariel and Kfar Saba. Only in one locality on the list - Kiryat Tivon - the rate of positive tests is below 5%, ie one of the indicators for taking control of the plague.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that this was an "emergency situation" that "requires us to make difficult but necessary decisions." The Prime Minister did not address the issue of unresolved demonstrations, adding: "It is not easy, neither in Israel nor in European countries where the disease is gaining tremendous momentum. But I serve you as Prime Minister of Israel for the difficult days and for difficult decisions" "My only goal is to save lives , On the lives of the worshipers who say on Yom Kippur, 'Our Father, our King, prevented an epidemic from your inheritance', and on the lives of all Israeli citizens, supporters and opponents alike. All my sons, all dear to me, and on all my lives I want to save "We are one people, the corona does not differentiate between us, so only together will we defeat the corona."
