US President Trump says he has trouble believing that Israel has laid down listening and eavesdropping facilities near the White House and other Washington sites. "I don't think Israel is spying on us. Everything is possible, but I can't believe it is true," Trump told reporters at the White House. This was President Trump's first response to the US news site Politico. Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu said the report was false and false. According to the prime minister, he clearly instructed the intelligence community not to act in the United States and this directive is fully enforced. A senior Israeli official added that the accusation by Israel of an attempt to spy on the US president is a blood libel in the style of "Protocols of the Elders of Zion." He says Israel may not be recruiting agents in the United States, but it is spying on technology.
Politico reports indicate that the Trump administration believes that Israel has apparently instilled tiny listening devices designed to spy on the White House. Three former Washington officials in the subject told the US news site "Politico" that in the past two years there were also listening devices near other sensitive sites around the capital. According to one of the sources, unlike other cases where foreigners were being listened to on US soil, the Trump administration did not reprimand the Israeli government.
One source told the news site that the measure appears to have been instigated to spy on President Trump and his senior advisers and immediate surroundings. However, it is unclear whether these efforts have borne fruit. It is a suitcase-sized system and can be held anywhere close to a mobile phone being tracked. The system causes the mobile phone to transmit data about its location, call targets and sometimes its contents
Foreign Affairs and Intelligence Minister Israel Katz denied the report altogether. He emphasized that Israel does not conduct any spy operations in the United States, adding that the two countries share a great deal of intelligence, and work together to prevent threats and strengthen their security.
