Flight Cancellations to Israel Extended Amid Security Tensions - Wizz Air Cancels Flights Until 2025

In response to ongoing security tensions, British Airways has announced the extension of its flight cancellations to Israel until November 2. Similarly, Iberia Express will continue its suspension of flights to Israel until November 30.

Wizz Air has gone a step further, extending its cancellation of flights to Israel through January 14, 2025. The airline is currently in contact with all affected customers regarding the changes.

Last-Minute Cancellations
Air Seychelles, which was scheduled to resume its flights to Israel today, has also canceled its return service at the last minute, further complicating travel plans for many passengers.

New Route from Uzbekistan
In contrast, Centrum Air, a low-cost carrier from Uzbekistan, has announced it will begin operating a bi-weekly route from Tel Aviv to Tashkent starting October 30, providing a new travel option for passengers.

Terminal Changes at Ben Gurion Airport
The Airports Authority has declared that Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport will close to international operations starting tomorrow, October 16, at 2:30 p.m., remaining closed until early Sunday morning, October 20, at 2:00 a.m. All international flights will be rerouted to Terminal 3, while domestic flights will continue to operate from Terminal 1. Travelers are advised to stay informed about flight schedules during this period.

Israir Expands Operations
In light of the prolonged flight cancellations by foreign airlines, Israir has announced plans to operate an additional backup aircraft starting this Friday. The airline will have a total of 13 narrow-body aircraft in operation for the second half of October to better accommodate passenger demand.
