Elbit System announces that it will be showcasing for the first time at the Mobile World Congress, taking place in Barcelona from February 26 until March 1, 2018. Visitors to the Company’s booth will be able to view a demonstration of WideBridge, an innovative, proven and secure, immediate communication solution for small and medium businesses.

WideBridge is comprised of proprietary technology that enables Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to provide organizations with an immediate secure communication service over LTE/3G/WiFi networks. WideBridge enables MNOs to offer Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC) communication, enhanced with Voice, Video and Map activated services. Integrated into the business’ operational processes and organizational information technology systems, WideBridge facilitates group collaboration among people and devices. WideBridge enables immediate cross organizational communication at the push of a button, replacing legacy PTT systems and providing customers with a secure and cost effective solution, fully compatible with Android and iOS systems.

Tested by first responders in homeland security and crisis management events, WideBridge is a field proven system that draws on Elbit Systems’ decades of experience in communication systems. Pelephone, a leading Israeli MNO, has recently integrated Elbit Systems’ WideBridge into its core network and initiated a large scale user trial of an advanced PoC based organizational communication service package that includes group video calls, conversation recording, web-camera connectivity and the presentation of user location on a digital map.

Israel Eiby, VP Business Customers of Pelephone, commented: “Pelephone has identified the need for immediate yet smart organizational communications. Spearheading the IoT revolution in Israel, Pelephone selected Elbit Systems’ innovative solution that enables seamless, efficient and cost effective integration between various communications platforms and the organization core systems. The combination of our leading market position and Elbit Systems’ technology leadership enables us to introduce an advanced PoC service that provides our customers with a comprehensive solution from application, through management interface to handsets.”

Haim Teichholtz, VP Engineering of Elbit Systems Land and C4I Division, said: “Technological innovation is a core competence of Elbit Systems. We are proud to demonstrate the Widebridge system, leveraging our technological leadership in defense communications to provide innovative solutions for business organizations.”
