The National Planning and Building Committee aspproves 8,500 housing units in Petach Tikva

The National Planning and Building Committee for Preferred Housing (and Military Projects) approved the plan promoted by the Israel Lands Authority and the Ministry of Defense in the Sirkin Camp area in Petah Tikva. To be evacuated as part of a comprehensive move from the IDF camps from central Israel to the Negev and the development of residential neighborhoods in their territory.
The plan covers 2,500 dunams, and as part of the approved plan, a new residential district with 8,500 housing units will be built in 30-3-story buildings. Of all housing units, 2,500 will be allocated to small apartments and 600 to special housing.
The plan also includes 270,000 square meters of commercial and employment areas, which are spread along commercial fronts as well as in two areas of employment in the north and south of the program.
The planning process has been in close collaboration with the Municipality of Petah Tikva since the inception of current mayor Rami Greenberg, since his predecessor, Itzik Braverman, was among the opponents of the plan. As part of the cooperation with the municipality, it was agreed that the existing road 40 west of the district will become a local street and a new national road - "bypass 40" - which will form part of the transportation solutions, will be established. In the area of ​​the new quarter, a 40 bypass road will be paved and above it will be a park with sports, country, sports fields, amphitheater and more.
