convalescence allowance for employees in the private sector will be updated to NIS 400 per day

The Histadrut and the presidency of the business sector announced this morning (Monday) that they have signed a general collective agreement, according to which the convalescence allowance for employees in the private sector will be updated to NIS 400 per day, compared to NIS 378 today - an increase that more or less matches the increase Attached is the annual payment to employees.
It is important to note that while in the private sector there has not been any update for 7 years in the amount, in the public sector the payment for each day of recovery is already 449 shekels per day, and this amount has increased in the last year from 432 shekels according to collective agreements.
This is an update that can ostensibly add between NIS 110 and NIS 220 per year for employees - depending on seniority in the workplace. Why only ostensibly? Because such an agreement was signed a year ago and the amount was supposed to rise to NIS 382 per day, but even that did not happen. The reason: such an agreement came into force only after the Minister of Economy signed an expansion order in the economy, and meanwhile the previous order was not signed by Minister Orna Barbibai either.
The agreement was signed by Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David with business sector president and farmers association Dovi Amitai, and not with employers and business president and manufacturers' association Tomer, who could oppose and influence the minister's decision, which as stated decided not to sign the agreed increase. A year ago.
The convalescence allowance is to be paid once a year in the June or July salary to about two million private sector employees. Every employee is entitled to the payment of convalescence days according to his seniority as aforesaid, where one year's seniority provides a payment of five convalescence days, in the second and third year six convalescence days, in the fourth to tenth year seven convalescence days, 11-15 years - eight days, 16-19 years Nine days and from the 20th year onwards ten days. This is a benefit for employees, which has existed in the law since the 1950s.
