Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad al-Shatayya has ordered the return to Israel of the 100,000 vaccines delivered

Posted on Jun 19, 2021 by Ifi Reporter

The transfer of corona vaccines to the Palestinian Authority has caused embarrassment among senior Palestinian Authority officials. Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad al-Shatayya has ordered the return to Israel of the 100,000 vaccines delivered on the grounds that their expiration date is earlier than agreed.
Israel intended to deliver a much larger number of vaccines to the Palestinians, and it seems that there are one million and two hundred thousand vaccines whose expiration date is about to expire. It should be remembered that Pfizer vaccines require freezing at a very low temperature.
The Ministry of Health says that the expiration date was known to the Palestinians and agreed upon. A political source said that the Ministry of Health's insistence in notifying the public that the vaccines given to the Palestinians would soon expire, embarrassed the authority and caused it to cancel the agreement. According to him, part of the Palestinian public got the impression that he would receive expired vaccines. It should be emphasized, however, that all the vaccines delivered could have helped the Palestinians in the territories.
