Gilat has won a $ 20 million contract and will will provide cellular transmission management services in the US

Posted on Oct 22, 2020 by Ifi Reporter

Gilat which develops and manufactures satellite communications equipment, has won a $ 20 million contract renewal and extension from a leading U.S. cellular communications company.
Gilat, which is managed by Adi Tzafdia, will provide cellular transmission management services for a period of three years - thus becoming the sole provider of the American cellular communications company. Under the contract, Gilat will enable transmission services in LTE technology, ensure essential communications services in the event of an end-to-end disaster, and replace the company's current providers in the field of satellite communications.
The extended contract will increase the share of recurring revenues in Gilat's revenue mix and thus reduce the volatility in its revenues and improve its profitability.
Gilat, which is controlled by the Phimie Foundation (34%), is a provider of end-to-end satellite and broadband communications solutions and services. The company's products include a cloud-based satellite communications network, high-speed modems, high-performance portable antennas, and solid-state amplifiers (SSPAs) and high-efficiency (BUC) frequency converters.
The main applications of Gilat's products are the extension of the coverage of cellular networks to sparsely populated geographical areas or those whose topography makes it difficult or makes the establishment of fiber-optic-based communication networks unprofitable. Gilat, which trades in Tel Aviv and NASDAQ at a value of $ 302 million, also provides satellite communications services to organizations such as banks and government offices, as well as high-speed Internet on flights and connectivity to ships, trains and security, emergency and rescue forces.
