The Tel Aviv Municipality has opened an urban center for epidemiological research, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Home Front Command and the Israel Police. The new center will employ one hundred municipal employees, municipal corporations and young people in a year of service. Mayor Ron Huldai said during the presentation of the center that "there is no doubt that the Ministry of Health has not supplied the goods, from the beginning."
He added that "the municipal corona control center (born control center) was born to improve processes that happen or do not happen at the national level." Today the Ministry of Health is not built to manage a crisis of this kind. "Unfortunately, the ministry's insistence on conducting the event is inappropriate."
Huldai also detailed the municipality's efforts to curb the spread of the virus in its territory, along with the establishment of the center. "These days we are working to reach all the elderly residents of the city by phone, in order to hear how they are and what their condition is," he explained. He also addressed the issue of enforcement and said that "on the one hand they want businesses to be open, on the other hand they want me not to enforce businesses that cause infection".
