98th Division Completes Successful Operations in center Gaza Strip: Strategic Tunnel Destructed

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced the completion of a coordinated above- and below-ground assault by the 98th Division in eastern Deir al-Balah and eastern al-Burij, located in the center of the Gaza Strip. During the maneuver, significant strides were made, including the location of weapons, the elimination of around 100 terrorists, and the destruction of over 100 terrorist infrastructures, including launch areas adjacent to Otaf settlements.

Combat teams of the 7th Brigade, Kafir, and Yalam fighters identified and neutralized multiple tunnel shafts. Yalam fighters successfully destroyed two tunnels, each approximately one kilometer long, effectively demolishing over two kilometers of offensive underground infrastructure.

Operation Arnon's Success:

The 98th Division, comprising Paratroopers, Kafir, 7th Brigade, and Yalam fighters, conducted various operations vital to the success of Operation Arnon. Notably, the Paratrooper brigade executed a daring hostage rescue operation, freeing hostages held by Hamas.

Commander's Gratitude:

Lt. Col. Dan Goldfuss, commander of the 98th division, expressed gratitude to the soldiers involved, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to rescue abducted individuals and eliminate underground enemy networks. Operation Arnon, conducted in Nusirat refugee camp, saw successful cooperation resulting in the rescue of four abductees, with the operation named in honor of fallen soldier Arnon Zamora.

Despite these successes, Goldfuss highlighted the continued mission to rescue more than 120 abducted individuals in Gaza, affirming the unwavering dedication to these efforts.

The completion of these operations underscores the IDF's commitment to safeguarding Israeli security and dismantling terrorist infrastructure in the region.
