In a landmark move, the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, has officially signed a contract for the sale of Israel's cutting-edge air defense system, "Kele David" (Magic Wand), to Finland. The deal, valued at 317 million euros (1.3 billion shekels), marks the first international sale of Rafael's highly acclaimed missile defense system.

The Magic Wand system, designed by Rafael, is renowned for its capability to intercept a wide range of threats, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft, and UAVs. It is considered one of the most advanced missile defense systems globally, showcasing the culmination of collaborative efforts between the Israel Defense Forces' Defense Wall Administration, the American Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and various Israeli defense industry leaders.

Following a rigorous competitive procedure spanning several years, Finland's Ministry of Defense selected the Magic Wand system for its advanced capabilities. As part of the comprehensive deal, Rafael will provide Finland with interceptors, launchers, and radars, all seamlessly integrated into Finland's existing command and control system.

The Magic Wand system, developed in cooperation with the IDF's Defense Wall Administration and the MDA, demonstrated its high-performance capabilities through numerous successful interceptions in real-world war scenarios. Reports indicate a remarkable 100% interception rate, solidifying its reputation as a reliable and effective defense solution.

Rafael's CEO, Yoav Har Even, expressed pride in the export deal, emphasizing the system's crucial role in Israel's multi-layered defense strategy. He stated, "The David Slingshot system is a significant part of Israel's defense, proving its essential role in protecting the country's skies and residents." Har Even further highlighted the company's commitment to reinvesting a substantial portion of the export revenue into research and development, ensuring the continuous enhancement of defense capabilities.

The signing ceremony at the Ministry of Defense was attended by key dignitaries, including the Ambassador of Finland in Israel, Dr. Nina Nordström, Finnish military attaché Colonel Ole Estaliuki, CEO of Rafael Maj. Gen. Yoav Har-Evan, Brigadier General and head of PAAT Dr. Dani Gold, Head of the Wall Administration Moshe Fatal, and CPA Dekal Cohen, head of the finance department in the Ministry of Defense, among other senior officials.

This significant export deal not only strengthens Israel's defense industry but also establishes the Magic Wand system as a global benchmark for advanced missile defense technology.
