The Ministry of Transportation and the Israel Railways is promoting the national project "The Eastern Railway" which will be an additional railway axis between the northern region, the center, and the south, and will allow for a significant improvement of the railway service all over the country, alongside a significant increase in cargo transportation, which will reduce road congestion, air pollution, and increase Safety of all road users.
As part of the project, Israel Railways will carry out complex engineering works in the Rosh Ha'Ein area, in which preparatory work will be carried out for the connection of the future eastern rail with the existing Sharon Ring railway, and the installation of dividers (a rail component whose function is to split an existing rail into several rails), as part of the future connection to the eastern rail. Also, and in order to bundle additional deals and thus reduce future inconvenience for passengers, Israel Railways will carry out additional work these days to upgrade and develop the track in the Petah Tikva area.
Due to the operation, temporary changes will be applied to train traffic at the Sharon Ring stations starting from Wednesday 11/23/22 until midnight 11/26/22 (inclusive). Bnei Brak, Kiryat Aryeh and Segula stations will be temporarily closed for service on work days. Trains on the Ashkelon line - Moshe Dayan-Herzliya - will be operated in a split format. Between Ashkelon and Tel Aviv Svidor Central stations (to the south), and between Herzliya and Rosh Ha'Ein North stations (to the north).
Continuous travel will not be possible between Tel Aviv Savidor Center and Rosh Ha'Ein North. Travel between these stations, and other stations on the line, will be possible by changing trains at the Herzliya station or using the shuttle system. Israel Railways will operate a free shuttle system between stations: Rosh Ha'Ein North - Tel Aviv Central Svidor (in both directions) and Kiryat Aryeh-Bnei Brak-TA Central Svidor (in both directions)
On Wednesday and Thursday, November 23-24, 2022, the frequency of trains at the Ra'anana, Hod Hasharon Sokolov, KPS Nordau and Rosh Ha'Ein North stations will temporarily decrease, and during peak hours there will be two trains every hour, in each direction (instead of four).
