From the data of the Central Bureau of Statistics published on Thursday, it appears that in all types of data there was a relatively significant increase in unemployment rates, which indicates a crisis that may develop in the labor market, although at the moment it is only the data of one month during which the spring holidays were.
The number of employed people who were temporarily absent from their jobs rose to 181.9 thousand, which is 4.0% of the labor force in the economy, compared to 169.5 thousand in April, which constituted only 3.8%.
Together with the workers who were fired or whose workplace was closed in the last two years, the unemployment rate in May this year has already risen to 4.8%, which is 216 thousand men and women, compared to 211.6 thousand which is 4.7% in April.
Including those who despair of finding work, the unemployment rate is already approaching a quarter of a million and is higher than five percent, 5.3% in May, compared to 5% in April - 240,200 unemployed, compared to 228,500 unemployed in April this year.
The employment rate in May increased slightly compared to April - 62.9% compared to 62.8%.
It also turns out that 27.6% of men were temporarily absent from work in May due to reserves, twice as much as in April, 13.5%. 3.5% of women were absent due to reserves in May compared to 2.5% in April.
