A wave of nationwide protests swept through Israel last night, with demonstrators voicing their discontent against the government and its leadership. The protests, which took place in various cities including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Caesarea, and Haifa, saw thousands of citizens taking to the streets to demand immediate elections and accountability from those in power.

In Tel Aviv, chaos unfolded as Ayalon North and South were blocked to traffic near Arlozorov, and clashes erupted between protesters and police on Kaplan Street. The scene was tense as the police declared the Tel Aviv demonstration illegal, despite prior approval. Demonstrators from diverse groups, including the "Brothers of Arms" organization and the "Dorshinoi" organization, converged to express their grievances, with some setting fires and engaging in confrontations with law enforcement.

In Jerusalem, around 300 protesters gathered, emphasizing the urgent need for elections and condemning what they described as a "strongman government." Similar sentiments were echoed in Paris Square, where demonstrators were evacuated by police after blocking intersections.

The protests extended beyond urban centers, with demonstrations in Caesarea, Kfar Saba, and Haifa. In Caesarea, the Prime Minister's convoy faced cries of "guilty," while in Kfar Saba, hundreds demanded the removal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, citing a "certificate of poverty" for Israel due to prolonged governance.

Retired military officials also joined the chorus of dissent. Lt. Col. (ret.) Amir Hashakal emphasized the need for change, likening Netanyahu's tenure to an obstacle hindering progress. General (res.) Yair Golan, speaking at a demonstration in Haifa, highlighted the government's failures and called for a determined struggle to bring about change.

These protests mark a resurgence of dissent following a hiatus during the war, with demonstrators rallying under the slogan "The destruction is already here, only a struggle will bring elections." Despite challenges and clashes, citizens remain resolute in their demands for accountability and change in leadership.

As tensions continue to simmer, the nation awaits to see how the government will respond to the growing calls for action and reform.
