Protesters, including family members of abductees and activists, have blocked Highway 1 towards Jerusalem, demanding action from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to secure the release of abducted individuals. The demonstration, occurring just before the Shabbat meal, aims to draw attention to the plight of those who have been held captive for 154 days.

Among the demonstrators are Ayala Metzger, Yifat Kalderon, Shahar Mor, Dan Pelti, and Yael Or, who have placed themselves inside cages as a symbolic gesture. Their relatives, including Ayala Metzger, daughter-in-law of Yoram Metzger, and Yifat Kalderon, cousin of Ofer Kalderon, are among those urging Netanyahu to prioritize the return of the abducted individuals.

The protest has led to a blockade, prompting authorities to divert traffic from road number 1 to road 443. Police are on-site managing the situation, with an announcement pending regarding the reopening of the road.

The families of the abductees have issued a passionate plea to the public, urging them to demand immediate action from the government. They emphasize that the return of the abducted individuals is essential for any semblance of victory, and they call on Netanyahu to prioritize negotiations for their release.

As tensions mount and the demonstration continues, the families vow to persist until their loved ones are brought home safely. They implore Netanyahu to heed their calls and take decisive action to end the ordeal that has gripped their lives for over five months.
