Three Israeli men in their 50s were killed in a shooting attack on Sunday at the Allenby crossing, which connects Israel and Jordan. The assailant, identified as a Jordanian truck driver, smuggled a weapon into the crossing and opened fire in the cargo terminal.

Medics from Magen David Adom (MDA) and IDF medical teams attempted to save the victims but were forced to pronounce them dead at the scene.

"We saw three men lying unconscious with no pulse and no breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds," recounted Yotam Tzur, an MDA emergency medic. Despite extensive resuscitation efforts, all three victims succumbed to their injuries.

Cargo Terminal Closed Following Attack

The attack took place at one of the main terminals used to transport humanitarian goods into Gaza. The terminal was immediately closed to traffic following the incident, halting the flow of essential supplies.

Second Deadly Attack in a Week

This tragedy comes just a week after a similar deadly incident on Route 35 near the Tarkomiya crossing, close to Hebron, where three Israeli police officers were killed in a shooting. The terrorists involved in that attack abandoned their vehicle at the scene, which was later found with backpacks inside.

The officers killed in the Route 35 attack were Sergeant Roni Shekuri, whose daughter, Officer Mor Shekuri, was murdered in the October 7 attack on the Sderot police station; Commander Arik Ben Eliyahu, 37, who left behind a wife and three children; and Sergeant Major Hadas Brentz, 53, who was survived by her husband, three children, a grandson, and a large family.

Security Concerns Mount as Violence Escalates

These recent attacks have heightened concerns over security at border crossings and in sensitive areas, further straining an already tense situation. The Israeli government is expected to review its security protocols at critical locations in light of the escalating violence.
