Israel's largest renewable energy project and one of the largest and most complex in the world, has completed the construction stage and is starting to operate commercially. From tomorrow, Negev Energy's thermal power plant at Ashalim will supply clean electricity to the national grid.
Negev Energy received all the necessary approvals, including a permanent license for the generation of electricity from the Israel Electric Corporation, and it will begin tomorrow at the commercial operation stage of the nearby solar thermal power plant To Ashalim in the Negev.

The station is spread over an area of 4,000 dunams (once and a quarter of Givatayim). It is made up of about 16,000 parabolic troughs and the brushes of a million concave mirrors, which convert solar energy into steam used to produce electricity. The Negev Energy Power Plant has installed a unique system for storing thermal energy based on molten salt, which enables the station to operate an additional 4.5 hours per day during the dark hours at full capacity, thus achieving extremely high levels of efficiency and efficiency.
