The online revolution reaches Zara in Israel: The Spanish fashion giant is opening an online store in Israel. It began running on Wednesday through the app and on Thursday through an online site. The Spanish retailer will provide its customers with home deliveries within three to six days at a cost of NIS 30, or free delivery of more than NIS 200. Zara also allows customers to collect the products ordered from 10 of its 25 physical stores. The app shows women's, men's and children's Zara brand only. Zara has other brands it intends to sell online, among others, Pull and Bear and Barshke.
Zara takes this step too late, and does not really offer a competitive value proposition to the local and international competitors that operate in Israel in terms of service. Nearly a decade has passed since the Spanish chain, which is owned by the Inditex public group, began operating online sales sites, with the deployment gradually taking place. Last March, Zara began operating an online store in Australia and New Zealand. Last March it expanded its operations to Brazil, and this month it launches online operations in the Middle East: Dubai, Egypt, Indonesia, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and the United Arab Emirates.
Zara does not allow the online sale of her home products, Zara Home, but only the fashion of dressing that includes women, men and children. This is in contrast to competing sites - from British Assos, which offers household products; To the Israeli Terminal X, which includes, for example, Fox Home products or the new anthropological network.
The cost of shipping: NIS 30, free of charge over NIS 199. This compares with the US, where shipping costs $ 4.95 - meaning cheaper than Israel and is free to buy over $ 50 and is delivered within 3-5 business days.
There is also a possibility to collect from Zara's 10 stores around the country only out of 25 existing stores (including Tel Aviv, Grand Canyon Haifa, Ashdod, Hadera, Renanim, Negev Mall and Eilat). You can also receive delivery to a delivery box (UPS) at a cost of 15 NIS. Delivery times: 3-6 business days - longer than the standard set by sites such as Terminal X in the Israeli market. The app also has customer service chat, in addition to phone and email. The deliveries are made through UPS and the courier company Tapuz.
