The Investment Authority of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, will implement a program to integrate interns from the Arab population in the industrial and high-tech sectors. The program is designed to help employers from the high-tech industry integrate students and graduates of higher education institutions in Israel from the Arab population, including Druze, Bedouin and Circassians studying technological subjects. The course is intended for corporations from all over the country dealing with elite technologies, companies in the pharmaceutical industry, electronic components, electronic communications, aircraft, industrial control and supervision equipment, medical and scientific equipment, chemicals and chemical products, machinery and equipment.
The program operates in the format of every first winner until the completion of the budget.
The assistance will be provided with the participation of professional wage holders up to a ceiling of NIS 13,000 for a period of not less than 12 months and not exceeding 24 months:
1. In the first 12 months of employment of the intern, assistance shall be given up to 40% of the cost of his salary.
2. From the 13th month until the end of the 24th month of employment, up to 30% of the cost of his salary.
The cost of the wage shall not be less than NIS 30 per gross work hour, multiplied by the number of hours in which the applicant undertook to employ the interns.
In 2018, 46 new jobs were approved under this track, with a budget of NIS 4,263,376. Six applications were submitted to the program. Three requests were approved from the north and three from the central region.
Sanso Medical Laboratories, located in Nazareth and specializing in medical and surgical devices, have been approved for 6 positions with an approved grant of NIS 727,565. The company "Cadence Design Israel" II, located in Petach Tikvah and engaged in technological development, has been approved for 5 positions with an approved budget of NIS 592,800.
"The key to integrating the Arab, Bedouin, Circassian, and Circassian population into the high-tech industry is to provide the opportunity," said Nahum Itzkovitz, director of the Israel Investment Authority, adding: "The integration program of interns in the elite industry has proven to be a magnet for absorbing interns in this industry. The contribution to society and industry will be more significant, and we must make an organizational and budgetary effort to expand it further. "
