US software giant Salesforce acquires Israeli software company Clicksoftware for $ 1.35 billion in a cash deal.
The biggest beneficiary of the deal is the private equity investment Francisco Partners, after Clicksoftware was sold to the fund for $ 440 million in 2015.
Clicksoftware was founded by Moshe Ben Best, but he retired from its current management and became a consultant to the company and a member of the board of directors for a short period. Clicksoftware CEO today is American Mark Cantini, the former CEO of Autotesk joining the company in early 2018.
Most Clixoftware employees are currently employed in the United States, but it still employs about 200 people in Israel. The company develops logistics management systems for customer service systems. It is estimated that the company's employees in Israel will integrate into the Sailsforce Development Center in Israel.
The company has about 29,000 employees worldwide. Salesforce is developing cloud computing solutions for the business sector, with emphasis on solutions for sales, customer relations and business services. One of its biggest competitors is Oracle, which it left in Benioff.
Francisco Partners owns Clicksoftware is one of the largest private equity investment companies in Israel's high tech companies. Following the acquisitions, Francisco Partners is shoring up the companies it invests with a view to selling them in afterwards. Salesforce's acquisition of Clicksoftware will be the second significant acquisition of Salesforce in Israel in a relatively short time. In July 2018, Datorama acquired more than $ 800 million.
